Mark Soltys
started his career in Information Technology
over 30 years ago while a student at Ball State
University in Muncie, Indiana working for the
university on a programming internship. He
earned a BA majoring in Computer Science and
Accounting in 1976.
He began at Shell
Oil in Houston, TX as a Programmer Analyst
programming and implementing a new cost
accounting system for chemical products
inventory. As IT lead in conjunction with other
business team members, he developed a 5 – 7 year
business system plan for the petrochemical
division.
Mark then worked for
Ernst & Whinney as a Systems Analyst, Systems
Supervisor/Lead Analyst responsible for the
design, programming and implementation of a new
MIS system for client/marketing, job accounting
and a financial systems interface.
A move to the
Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) in Dallas, TX,
in 1984 brought experience analyzing and
developing core financial systems for the oil
and gas subsidiary with responsibility for
budgeting, cost tracking, resource scheduling
and technical assistance. His last project with
ARCO involved the implementation of one of the
first ERP systems for the oil and gas industry
known as ICOR – Integrated Capital
and Operations Reporting
system
At the Pratt and
Whitney division of United Technologies as an IT
Manager in Connecticut, he had full
responsibility for support, maintenance and
enhancement of all manufacturing division
general accounting and payroll systems.
His next career move
took him to Mobil Oil in Fairfax, VA, as the IT
Team Lead on the Global Revenue Reporting
project involving analysis, design, programming
and subsequently maintenance of a management
information reporting (MIR) system to
consolidate and report financial results for
Mobil Corporation and all foreign affiliates.
Follow on projects resulted in the agreement of
business requirements and selection of SAP R/3
as a strategic platform for materials management
and purchasing of MRO items in the Houston and
Beaumont refineries and petrochemical plants.
Another twelve years have been spent in systems
integration consulting, including work on ERP /
SAP projects at Hoechst Celanese in plant
maintenance, purchasing and materials management
and Coca Cola on project “Infinity” in Atlanta,
GA. He was then promoted to Vice
President/Practice manager at Conley Canitano
and Associates, Inc. (CCAi) with responsibility
for the management of a business unit consisting
of up to 70 consultants and successfully managed
the assimilation of staff from two other
consulting companies into his unit as a result
of the acquisitions.
He joined
itelligence, Inc as Vice President of Operations
for North America in January 2001. Ultimately
reporting to the board of directors, his
responsibilities included complete business unit
management of an SAP consulting practice of up
to 125 full time employees (consultants).
In January 2004,
Equal-Plus Inc. brought Mark in as Chief
Operating Officer to head their US operations
for their ERP consulting services division. He
has increased consulting staff and managed
consulting operations for ERP projects at major
clients such as Georgia Pacific, Graphic
Packaging International, Limited Brands and the
Honda Aircraft Company.
Mark was elected to and served in public office
while in Connecticut and has been active in many
civic, social and charitable organizations. He
is currently residing in Atlanta. |
